Pluto Retrograde
May 1 – October 10, 2023
Pluto transits retrograde every year for about 5 months, and like all retrograde transits, this one is best used for introspection rather than initiation.
While Pluto is retrograde, it’s time to look within for any repetitive patterns, obsessive thoughts or other psychological demons so you can work to banish them from your consciousness. Likewise, it’s time to identify and purge relationships and circumstances that are toxic to your physical, emotional and spiritual well being.
If you can clear away these negative influences (or at least some of them), you’ll find it much easier when Pluto moves forward to create a life that aligns with your soul’s purpose and brings you fulfillment. If not, they’ll continue to interfere with your personal happiness until you release them.
Pluto as an Eclipse Trigger
When distinguishes this retrograde cycle is that from the moment Pluto changes direction to head back into Capricorn, it will be applying a square to the April 20 eclipse point at 29°50′ Aries.
A hard aspect (conjunction, opposition, square) from a transiting planet to an eclipse point triggers the eclipse and reactivates its energy.
Since Pluto moves so slowly, this square will be in effect from May 1 – June 18 (the day it becomes exact). Consequently, the influence of the Aries solar eclipse will be active as well, which means during this time an event could occur that stems from the solar eclipse on April 20.
